Very disappointed! Last time we came here, which was a couple years ago, we waited an hour outside, because there is NO room inside and the food was decent. But, this time, we waited 20 minutes at 5:45 (plenty of tables were open though) and the food was terrible!! None of us liked anything!! Hush puppies were disgusting, fish just fell apart, mozzarella sticks were the worst I have ever had and my kids didn't even like their popcorn shrimp! They need to just burn this dirty place down and start over! We will never be back. Our server was good though- I think Bobbi was her name..

We are in town for a visit and wanted something that we don't have near by where we live. We have been to another location in the past and loved it so we thought what the heck, let's go have some good seafood. We got there at about 7:15, the place was less than half full. After waiting for 20 minutes without someone even saying we will be right with you we got up and left. They acted like they did not care if we stayed or went.

Had to ask for a kids menu for my 7 year old child. Then waited 16 minutes for someone to take our drink order. I order a $13.00 appetizer for my meal and it was brought out 25 minutes before the rest of my group got there food. Even after explaining it was meal they didn't take it back, ensuring I had a cold meal since it would be rude to eat when my family didn't have food. Will never go back. It's a shame bc the food is good.

I don't know why people were complaining about their food and service. Both were incredible when we went and I'm honestly picky about my food and service. They did an outstanding job and I'll definitely be back!

I've never read/heard ANYTHING positive about Joe's Crab Shack, and now I know why. We'd just got picked up from the airport, were ravenously hungry, and the relatives offered to buy us lunch. The decor is Buca di Bepo meets Red Lobster which is kinda "fun," I guess. I dunno if our server was new or just plain weird generally, but he was totally overly-attentive, overly-ingratiating, and every interaction with him was awkward and uncomfortable. He was REALLY pushy about selling us some appetizers too. Annoying. Three out of four dishes were mediocre at best. My Aruba Shrimp Salad (a staggering $9.89) was downright awful - I had to send the first one back as it didn't come with bleu cheese crumbles on the side, as I requested. The replacement came with watery Ranch dressing and not strawberry vinaigrette, as stated on the menu. Over half of the salad leaves were wilted and turning to sludge. The shrimp were small, cold and rubbery. His Crab Cake Sliders ($9.99) were microscopic, sloppy and stale-tasting, and the bun wasn't toasted. The accompanying side of store-bought coleslaw was lame. My Aunt's Crispy Shrimp platter ($11.69) was something you might expect from Long John Silver's for a third of the price. Uncle's "Orleons" style Steampot (shrimp, corn, crawfish, andouille sausage and red potatoes; $17.99) was definitely the winning meal. Everything looked fresh, the seafood was plentiful, it smelled delicious, and he ate every single morsel with gusto. I felt bad because it was obvious that the food was over-priced crap. I'll never go back.

So the family and I decide to have a late dinner a Joe's after watching the Tornado Alley Roller Girls lack the smack down on a hapless team out of Missouri. We got there around 9:00 pm and the place was packed. Ten minutes later there were two other tables occupied. The place cleared out quick! This was our order: Double dip for appetizer (spinach&artichoke, crab), Mini beach burgers with fries & side of broccoli for the young 'un, shrimp trio (crab stuffed, grilled malibu, coconut) & broccoli for the Mrs., and Maui Mahi with bacon green beans and new potatoes for me. The good: Our server was very friendly and attentive. She got our order in pretty quickly and had our drinks as soon as they were ready. The double dip was very good. I liked the spinach/artichoke better than the crab dip, but they were both good. Our entrees were a mixed bag. The broccoli and the Maui Mahi were very good. The broccoli had an excellent flavor and wasn't too overcooked; the mahi was flavorful and not dry. My wife's malibu grilled shrimp and the crab stuffed mushrooms were good, but no gastronomical masterpiece by any stretch. The Bad: The mini burgers were bland; nothing that would make you remember them one way or another. The coconut shrimp had decent flavor, but there was too much of the coconut breading and it was overcooked while my new potatoes had a pretty good flavor, the taste was unsatisfying because it was over-salted. The Ugly: My green beans were anti-fabulous! They were bland and had nothing going for them whatsoever (other than nutritional value). Conclusion: Joe's is a hit or miss proposition. Granted, their specialty is crab, but any good seafood restaurant should be able to handle basic fare such as we ordered. Our server was friendly and the atmosphere was fun, however I would recommend going only if you know specifically which items to order and which to avoid.

Let's be real, this is Oklahoma City and the current echelon of seafood restaurants is Pearls oyster bar (I am impatiently awaiting the opening of The Drake by AGE). However if I want crab legs this is where I go and if you can't tell from my previous reviews I seafood but unfortunately live in a land locked state. If I don't want to go to Sprouts to steam king crab at home this is the place I go. Realistically I know I am a food snob and in general hate chain restraints but I really love the crab shack on 240 & Penn. Everything we get here in terms of crab in Oklahoma City is going to be flash frozen out at sea. The the thing I really like about this place is that the market price per pound of crab isn't ridiculously overpriced. You are looking at 22/lb for snow crab & topping out at 30/lb for king crab. I have been to The Shack in Nichols Hills, Pearls Crabtown, Pearls Oyster Bar, Hillbilly & Po Boys, Mickey Mantles and every other place in between and you are generally seeing prices as low as 45/lb for snow crab and 90/lb for king crab. Guess what folks ITS ALL THE SAME FREAKING CRAB THAT HAS BEEN PREVIOUSLY FROZEN!!!! To top that off Joes offers several different combinations of steam pots with everything from scallops to crawfish in addition to offering several different seasoning options. The service is always decent and on Tuesdays they offer 2$ appetizers along with 2$ hurricanes. It really doesn't get any better than this if you are looking for no nonsense seafood in Okc. Just want to note this is not a date place, this is a get down & get your grub on with crab shells on your clothes kind of place. I've been a regular here for years and if I've ever had a problem (only twice out of countless times) the manager was promptly at my table ready to fix any problems. Also worth noting they regularly prepare items not listed on the menu. I really love fried oysters which I've only seen on the menu once in ten but often request with no problems at all.

HORRIBLE! We were in OKC for business and ate here because it was close to our job. Bad decision. When we first walked in, we were seated quickly and only two tables in restaurant were occupied so we expected fast service...we were wrong. The booth by the window that we sat at had a hanging light fixture over the tabe that was caked with grease and dust as were the blinds...it was filthy. Waiters and waitresses very lazy laughing and cutting up and not concerned about speed or cleanliness. Customer jumped on table and started taking his clothes off and no one stopped him. He stopped but after he jumped down...he was never approached by anyone, or asked to leave. The table he stood up on was never wiped down after he jumped down off the top of it. NEVER NEVER NEVER to a Joes crab shack again for us.
